Our FUN Weekend--Friday Loons Game

We had a really busy, really fun weekend. We went to my mom and dad's house in Midland and took in a baseball game Friday night. The Great Lakes Loons, the Class A Affiliate of the LA Dodgers, make their home in Midland. They have a brand new stadium, tickets are cheap (ours were free!) and it is just a really great way for families to spend an evening.

This is the mascot, Lou E. Loon. Kyle was scared to death of this bird...but he is scared of most things these days, so it isn't a surprise. Lou E. is very entertaining and in this shot he was looking for the lady that just accepted her boyfriend's proposal on the field to give her red roses.

Seriously...people still wear their hair like this?? Wow. Bill and Kyle taking in the game. Popcorn--Kyle's dinner of choice.
This is Colton, my brother's girlfriend's nephew. Isn't he just the cutest?!
Yes, Kelsey enjoyed the game too. She loves watching the people and the lights and just taking it all in.

Our seats were in the 4th row, but no one was sitting in the front row, so we hung out there for the last couple innings. They re-broadcast the game on the local Midland station yesterday and Kyle thought it was pretty cool to see Papa on TV--he was sitting in the 2nd row and the camera caught him a couple times. Kyle was also on TV for a few seconds, but he missed it.

Oh, did I forget to mention that the Loons lost to the Dayton Dragons on Friday night, 6-5? It was a really close game and exciting at the end.

We really enjoyed the Loon's game when we were in town in June. My kids are in the fan club now - Should look into it for Kyle - it's on their website:) I heard you saw Christine - very exciting!

Kelsey is getting big - good work on that Mama! Thanks for sharing!

It looks like you had a fun filled weekend!!! Lauren was looking over my shoulder and just exclaimed "Look Mama -- popcorn!" I'm afraid we eat our fair share for dinners too.
